Top Ranked Point Guard Tyus Jones Cancels Kentucky Wildcats Visit
I felt like the Grinch on Chrsitmas day when I read this news, and cannot pretend like it is not giving me a bit of glee on this beautiful Friday in Chicago. Looks like head coach John Calipari does not quite get everything he wants.
Point guard Tyus Jones cancelled his Kentucky Wildcats visit, which all but eliminates the Cats from the recruitment of Jones and possibly his package recruiting deal partner Jahlil Okafor. The Wildcats still have plenty to look forward too, especially this year, but Calipari was most likely not pleased to hear this news.
Saw this today from Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, which is a fantastic program to keep up with for Wildcats coverage.
Tyus Jones cancels his visit to Kentucky. This probably eliminates the already small chance he was coming here

Okafor had a good time on his trip to Lexington, but it will ultimately prove to not be enough. The package deal appears to be running strong and Jones recently tweeted “we know the plan”, so they seem to be on the same page. Jones has Okafor’s inner ear, and if the young point guard decides that a team is off his list, then it is likely off Okafor’s list as well.
Early November is when we will know the final answer to this recruiting question, and it can not come soon enough for me.
