Well it has not been the best month in recruiting for Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari. He missed out on ESPN60′s second best point guard Emmanuel Mudiay, which triggered a panic scholarship to Tyler Ulis. That ultimately took them out of the running for Tyus Jones, which in turn will take them off top ranked center Jahlil Okafor’s list as well. One domino just hits the other.
My how the wheels have turned.
Tyus Jones has cancelled his visit to UK. Only Baylor, Kansas, & Duke will host both package deal Jones & 5 star big man Jahlil Okafor #Duke

Did not mean to imply Ulis is not a quality player, but the fact remains that he only got a scholarship offer after it appeared Mudiay had checked out on the Wildcats. This clearly scared Jones off, especially after Ulis committed to the offer.
Something tells me (at least for this season) Calipari will be fine. He is welcoming one of arguably the best recruiting classes in NCAA history and if they back that up with their play on the floor then you can write that one in ink. They will definitely be in contention for a national title this year, and you can bet that it will be a hotly contested decision in March. Also there will be quite a few disappointed young men, but Calipari is hoping that his boys in Lexington leave the year with a smile.
