Apple Valley PG Tyus Jones Wanted to Take Last Two Visits with Jahlil Okafor

Point guard Tyus Jones put his foot down recently after hearing all the chatter that he and Jahlil Okafor might not be a package recruiting deal. That resulted in Jones showing people “that we still have the same plan” in his own words. He ended up canceling his visit to Lexington it seems to prove a point. This is a bright young man, and watching his success at the college basketball level will be fun indeed but it will not be for Big Blue Nation.

You can check out the Apple Valley guard’s blog on USA TODAY Sports blog below, and shout out to Jason Jordan for engineering these excellent pieces.

The duo fed bears on their visit to Waco, which sounds crazy but it also sounds the pair had a pretty good time. They even played pick up with the team, so that should have given them a good sense of who they would be joining next season. Ishmail Wainwright is one of my favorite young players in college basketball today and cannot wait to see him take the court in the Big 12. It remains to be seen where the package duo will play though.

Thanks for reading you all, keep an eye out later for a piece on Justise Winslow’s role in the duo’s recruitment.
