The Baylors Bears are playing hard ball, and I’ve got to admit. I’m kind of impressed.
All “Old School” references aside you can bet that I’m not joking about the Bears. They pulled out all the stops recently when top ranked 2014 point guard Tyus Jones and top ranked 2014 center Jahlil Okafor came to town. Jones revealed in his USA TODAY Sports blog (managed by Jason Jordan), that the Bears picked them up in a customized van and then they fed live bears before the football game. They also played some ball with the current team, and it appears all around that they had a great visit. You can read Jones’ full blog post below, which I highly recommend.

It remains be seen whether all that effort will pay off, but the Bears have certainly impressed me lately and they appear to be bent on making the most out of their football and basketball programs in the coming years. Should be quite exciting, and it is definitely something to keep an eye on between now and November.
I’m sure if Robert Griffin III was in town, they would have arranged a visit, but if the duo attend Baylor then I’m sure that could be arranged at some point. The Bears are my longshot of the three left in contention at this point, but they are also the team I’m rooting for the most in this race. Ishmail Wainwright is one of my favorite players entering college basketball this season and it would be great to see him play with other elite level talent.
