Kentucky Wildcats Head Coach John Calipari says “We Are College Basketball”
Pride cometh before the fall, isn’t that what they say? Well we will have to see what comes after Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari’s recent comments about his team.
“Our biggest opponent: ourselves,” Calipari said to ESPN. “At Kentucky, we are competing against ourselves every day. We can’t let the strain and spotlight of this program affect you. We are the place to help you achieve your dreams.”
He went on to make a claim that every other team will be circling the Wildcats on their calendar.
“We don’t just play college basketball, we are college basketball” Calipari said. “As you know, we are everyone’s Super Bowl.”
You can check out the full piece below, and Calipari seems to be putting on quite a nice show for Big Blue Nation, and he even kind of sounded like a CEO at the event Friday night. It will be interesting to see how the players act if there is an early season loss, but we will just have to see what happens.

The Wildcats recently kicked off midnight madness which was attended by Calipari;s former players John Wall and Anthony Davis, which is always useful as a recruiting tool. in any case Calipari has proven that he can get five young man to buy into his system before, so it would not be a shock if it happened again.
