Point guard Marcus Smart is not shying away from a little competition, and I like that in my feisty point guards. He recently said about newest Big 12 addition Andrew Wiggins that “it’s all potential”, and in a way Smart is right.
Wiggins has done nothing yet in college basketball, because he has not played a game yet. That will change soon though, and looking forward to seeing Smart and Wiggins match talents laters this year. It will be a marquee matchup and should be on national television.

In my opinion, these two players will battle it out for Big 12 player of the year. Smart for his part is trying to win the award for the second year in a row, while Wiggins doing it as a freshman would be remarkable.
According to Jeff Goodman, Wiggins has not even been the most impressive during practices which is not a great sign, but something tells me that when the lights come on that the young Canadian will be ready. His high school coach Rob Fulford said that the forward has a way of stepping up for those marquee games, so we will all look forward to watching him with the national lights on.
Well let us turn those bright lights on then.
