The Duke Blue Devils have been known more for basketball than football, but their fooze-ball (Waterboy reference) program came through in a big way this weekend by winning a game attended by Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones, and Justise Winslow.
This was an absolutely critical weekend for the Blue Devils, and I have no doubt that they probably knocked it out of the park. To me the only other contender here would be the Jayhawks and I think, in the end, the opportunity to maybe play with Jabari Parker is just too good to pass up. Lord knows I would not pass it up.
Thanks to the tweet below for the alert about the football win.
this weekend: #Duke football beat a ranked team, Tyus Jones, Jahili Okafor & Justise Winslow visited & Bruce Springsteen was at Shooters. Ok

Watched an excellent documentary about Benji last night that was part of the 30 for 30 series, and it made me both sad for the future that never was, while also excited to see Parker play out the future that Benji never got to. Chicago basketball has both an illustrious and violent past (much like the city itself), and it will be interesting to see how this tale unfolds.
The football win probably has little to do with the decision for Jones and Okafor, and we should see another development by early November so keep an eye on Rant Sports Prep. We keep the hot sauce at the ready over here and college basketball is just about to light up the world again folks.
