Jabari Parker is probably pinching himself a little right now. Growing up Oscar Robertson was one of the players Parker’s father Sonny made sure his son saw tape of. Before the time Parker hit high school he was well aware of Robertson’s legacy not only on the pro court, but also at the high school level.
Now Parker can add this to his resume. He was named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List, and could even be a serious contender to take this thing home.
Parker knows a little bit about that with four state titles to his name in high school. College basketball has been waiting for a season like this since 2003, so be sure to have your DVRs set for some serious work.

Parker will have trouble topping his high school career, but he will do his darnedest. The forward’s skill on the low block as well as his shot-blocking ability will be a commodity in Durham, and it will be interesting to see how ealry they lean on him.
The first real test comes on November 12th, and very proud to say that I will be at the United Center that night to watch Parker battle with Andrew Wiggins. It should be a thrilling matchup so check back in folks.
