Jahlil Okafor Would Have Wanted Tyus Jones in College Even with “Basketball Out of the Equation”

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Jahlil Okafor recently announced the intention to attend Duke University in a packed press conference at Whitney Young High School (IL). Tyus Jones announced the same thing at the same moment in Minnesota, which is pretty freaking cool. Their bro-mance is something that will be fascination to watch in college, because they are so close but they are also both the top ranked players at their respective positions.

“I’ve known Tyus since I was in third grade” Okafor said to CSN. “We played against each other in Orlando, Florida for Nationals. I beat him in the Elite Eight which I often brag about and we rekindled our friendship my freshman year playing with USA Basketball. We went overseas to Mexico and won the Gold Medal and we also did the same thing in Lithuania the following year so we just want the opportunity to win and I think us together will give us the best chance to win. That was the main thing of us wanting to go to the same university. He is like my best friend; he is like a brother to me. And if you take basketball out of the equation, that is still somebody I would like to college with.”

Just too adorable for words folks, God I am getting a little bit too old and sentimental a little bit too early. There is still work left to do; thanks for reading.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
