Duke Blue Devils Commit Tyus Jones Looking to Get Second State Title This Season
Point guard Tyus Jones was not always such a big deal, but ever since eighth grade he has been getting recruited quite heavily and the spotlight got a bit brighter recently. It came to a close last week when he committed to the Duke Blue Devils along with Jahlil Okafor in a joint press conference that saw Blue Devil Nation responding with joy on twitter and the Cameron Crazies jumping up and down in the streets. Small forward Justise Winslow’s commitment followed shortly thereafter, and the Blue Devils will most definitely be the preseason number one in 2014 even if all of their current roster decides to leave.
Thanks to the tweet below for the alert to the news that Jones was named a preseason All American according to USA TODAY, which is a major accomplishment for the young floor general.

Jones will fulfill many of his wildest dreams in college, but it still remains to be seen if he will make a good professional player one day or if he will fizzle out. All the indications so far seem to be pointing towards yes, but we will have to see what he has in store for us in his last season of high school basketball. He will try to lead Apple Valley to a second state title, which would be a major accomplishment for the young guard out of Minnesota. Thanks for reading folks and be sure to keep an eye out for a piece on Stanley Johnson later tonight.
