Point guard Tyus Jones was truly impressive today in Apple Valley’s (MN) season debut victory, producing a triple-double state line (15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists) to go along with four steals. This could be the first step of many in Apple Valley’s march towards a second consecutive state title.

Shoutout to Iowa Elites as always for tweeting about the triple-double and double-shoutout for the mention in the tweet making it easier for me find! So thoughtful, and it is much appreciated.

Jones is a package recruiting deal with top ranked center Jahlil Okafor, and they will be playing their ball next season in Durham. You can bet that Blue Devil nation is excited for this as they have been expressing to me on twitter early and often.

Before that though their high school teams meet up in a game that will be aired on ESPN2, which you can bet we have already set our DVR for with great excitement. Jones is a special player so if you ever get a chance to see him live, then definitely recommend that you take advantage of the opportunity.
