Jahlil Okafor is already a widely beloved player, and that will only become more true in the future. He tips off his senior season of high school basketball with Whitney Young tonight at UIC, and for any Chicago readers out there going to the game be sure to twett me pictures or videos if you want to be in an article tomorrow.

Okafor will join the Duke Blue Devils next season, but I am fully expecting him to bring home a state title this season before he has to worry about college basketball. It is probably something he is looking forward to though because he will be attending with his good friend and top five ESPN player in the 2014 college basketball recruiting class Tyus Jones. Jones got his own state title last season, but he looks like he is on a mission to repeat this season and so look for Apple Valley to be the favorite for sure. Okafor has had Jabari Parker in the way the last three years, and so this year it is much more likely to happen for the Whitney Young center. Oddly enough, Okafor and Jones will match up against each other on December 12th in a game that will air on ESPN2, and it should be fun to watch the future college teammates go at each other on national television.

One more Prep Sports piece coming today, and then if you are still bored at work be sure to check out my pro basketball previews.
