Duke Blue Devils’ Commit Tyus Jones Looking Impressive In Early Season
Tyus Jones pleased many Duke Blue Devil fans recently when the Apple Valley point guard committed to the Blue Devils along with the top ranked player in the class Jahlil Okafor. They committed in a joint press conference despite being in different states, and their announcement was followed the next week by small forward Justise Winslow committing as well. The Blue Devils will for sure be the preseason number one in 2014 whether Jabari Parker returns to school or not; that is not likely to happen in my opinion, but it is still not out of the realm of possibility.
Thanks to the tweet below for the in-game update of how Jones’ high school squad was faring in their latest bout, and Apple Valley had a pretty healthy lead if you ask me.

Jones and Okafor will bring an excitement and chemistry that we have not seen in college basketball since probably Greg Oden and Mike Conley decided to go to school together. The Blue Devils in particular have not had a duo like this come to campus for some time, and the Cameron Crazies will have a lot to bounce and yell about in the next two years. It will be interesting to see who the leading scorer on the squad is, and my money would probably go to Okafor on that bet.
Two more Prep pieces today and then if you are still bored at work then check out my pro basketball previews. Much love and stay safe out there today.
