Duke Blue Devils Commit Tyus Jones Shows Ability to Score in the Paint Against De LaSalle
Recently saw the tweet below about point guard Tyus Jones’ play and think it sums up quite well how I feel about the young player when watching his highlight films. Thanks to MSHSL John for the inspiration from the tweet below.
DeLaSalle has found no answer for slowing Tyus Jones, who is driving the lane with no regard for human life. AV up 56-47, 9:13 left. #mshsl

His ability to score in the paint with either hand is quite rare for a point guard, and when a player is able to attack either side of the rim it really makes a difference in the way that stretches out the defense opening up other scoring opportunities. The players Jones has been compared to are all great floor generals, but it still remains to seen if he will be able to operate with the same smoothness in college.
Jones approached his recruiting process with a lot of maturity, and so hope he is enjoying this time because he has earned being allowed to enjoy his senior year in relative peace. Quite looking forward to following this young man’s college career, but first we will have to see if he can bring home a second state title.
Thanks for reading folks and be sure to keep an eye out for a piece on why Jones should be the immediate starter for the Blue Devils when he arrives on campus next season
