Tyus Jones had an impressive effort recently with the young floor general dropping a double-double of 29 points and eleven assists; he almost got to the triple-double, but not quite.
Apple Valley (MN) has their sights clearly set on another state title this season, and certainly having a top five player in the country is a pretty good place to start on that path. Jones will not be attending college in Minnesota, so you can bet that he is enjoying this last year of high school basketball and the chance to play in front of so many friends and family.

Do not believe Apple Valley has lost yet this year, which is a good sign for their hopes so far. Definitely circle December 12th on your calendars if you are a Jones fan because that game will be on ESPN2.
Jones committed to the Duke Blue Devils this fall along with the top ranked player in the class Jahlil Okafor, and they will be the preseason number one in 2014 without a doubt. Okafor’s Whitney Young team is actually who Apple Valley will play on the 12th and you can bet that my DVR is already set.
That is all for Rant Sports Prep today, but be sure to check out my pro basketball previews in the morning. For those of you in Chicago, stay warm and safe out there. Slower and alive is better than faster and dead.
