Duke Blue Devils’ Commit Jahlil Okafor Promises “We’ll Be Good” After Whitney Young Season Opening Loss

Top ranked center Jahlil Okafor was dealt with a loss on his season debut, but through no fault of his own. He tweeted after the game though “not even gonna hang my head on this one, we’ll be good. A promise I can make.” Whitney Young (IL) fans should have no fear of a successful season in my opinion; the Dolphins will work the kinks out and by early spring they will be balling hard.

Thanks to Okafor for his words of inspiration, which show what a true champion’s heart feels after a defeat.

Still remember watching the state playoff game last season where forward Jabari Parker sent Okafor and Whitney Young packing, and thinking that the center’s time would come the following year. Could end up being wrong about that, but if we cannot trust out gut then what can we trust?

Okafor plays against future college teammate and top five ESPN ranked player Tyus Jones on December 12th, which is getting closer and closer. The game will air on ESPN2 and you can bet will be giving you all a recap of it the day after. Might even DVR it and watch it twice to make sure I pick up on everything that went down. If Okafor can help Whitney bring home state by the end of the year though, betting the Dolphins will be “good” with that.
