Point guard Tyus Jones recently led his Apple Valley (MN) to victory, and Duke Blue Devil fans should be pleased to hear that their future point guard is playing strong basketball in the early season.

In the final minute Apple Valley ran out some clock and brought home a 73-63 victory. Jones scored a game high 29 points on 10 of 19 field goals attempts along with 11 assists and seven rebounds, which almost was another triple-double for the young floor general.

Much thanks to Breakdown Sports USA for the game recap, which is always appreciated.

Jones committed to the Blue Devils this November much to the joy of many folks down in Durham. Have not had the joy to see him play live yet, but have caught his play on the tube a couple times and his play is impressive and smooth.

He was a package recruiting deal with the top ranked player in the class, Jahlil Okafor, and they will form a two-headed monster that nobody in college basketball is going to enjoy going up against. It makes me shudder just to think about it, but it is going to be a lot of fun to watch.

For now though will continue to keep track of Jones’ goal to win a second state title for Apple Valley and so far it is going pretty well so far.
