Stanley Johnson Wants to “Make An Impact From the Start” For Arizona Wildcats
Arizona Wildcats commit Stanley Johnson was thunderously dunking the ball this Saturday, but what you have to love most about this talented young forward is his commitment to winning.
“I could have zero points and zero assists, as long as we win,” Johnson said to AZ Central Sports. “I’m playing point guard now. It’s a little different for me, but I want to guys get their shots off. I expect to come in and make an impact from the start.”
He helped Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei destroy Houston Yates in a high tempo bout that ended 100-57 at Grand Canyon University Arena. He finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists; he is also trying to lead Mater Dei to a fourth consecutive state championship and he has been a starter on the team ever since his freshman year.
Johnson will bring a lot of win and a lot of smiles to the faces of Wildcat fans in the coming year, and you can bet that you will be seeing Johnson on the SportsCenter top ten sooner rather than later. Will keep track of the forward’s quest for a fourth state title as well, so be sure to stop by anytime.
