Duke Blue Devils commit Jahlil Okafor has had a pretty good week; he turned eighteen on Sunday and won a match on national television over his close friend and future college teammate Tyus Jones.
Then noticed the below thanks to Chip Miller that Okafor along with Jones and others were names to the Naismith Early-Season Watch List. That is quite an accomplishment though not completely unexpected either.

Okafor is probably the early season favorite for this, but Emmanuel Mudiay and Stanley Johnson both could have something to say by the end of the year. Will definitely be a race to keep an eye on, and you can bet will be making predictions here at Prep after more of the season has played out and get a sense of the bigger picture.
Okafor helped his team eke out win last night, but he was not happy about the effort from his team and the Dolphins will need to play with more urgency if they still have intentions of winning a state title this season. They have been blocked the last three years by Jabari Parker, but this should be the year where they have some daylight to breakthrough. As a Chicago resident, you can bet it is of supreme interest to me and if anyone out there likes reading about then I am your main man.
Two more Prep pieces coming your way today, and then if still bored be sure to check out pro b-ball previews which dropped earlier this morning.
