Tyus Jones, the fourth ranked prospect in ESPN’s 2014 college basketball recruiting rankings, will face off against the Cougars of Lakeville South High School tonight, and much thanks to the tweet below for the alert to the game tonight.
Tonight your Cougars take on the Eagles from Apple Valley, with the number 4 player in the nation Tyus Jones. Wear Red and Green!!!

For those of you in the area would encourage you to check him out; his recent play on ESPN2 was impressive though not quite as impressive as his future teammate Jahlil Okafor. They will both be playing for the Duke Blue Devils one day, and that is rapidly approaching as the current college basketball season begins to enter conference play.
Jones’ three point shooting last Thursday impressed me the most, although he does have some work to do on the defensive end. He gets into passing lanes and anticipates better than most young players, but his on-ball defense in particular needs some tightening up before he is ready to do elite work on that end at the college level. All should be good things to keep an eye on as Jones progresses through the rest of the season, and we get to the Spring. If get a chance to, will definitely try to make it to the McDonald’s All American game this season so keep an eye on us.
It was special that Okafor and Jones got to play each other this season, but now it is on to the coverage of their respective quests to bring home a state title. It should be a long and winding road, but you can bet we will cover every little detail of it here at Rant Sports Prep.
