Duke Blue Devils Tyus Jones’ Game Is Predicated On Taking What Defense Gives Up

Tyus Jones High School Basketball: Nike Global Challenge

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Duke Blue Devils commit Tyus Jones has looked super smooth, and in re-watching his game against center Jahlil Okafor thanks to the miracle of DVR, have to say that the point guard has a great pace to his play. He knows when to take things slow, and then when to hit the gas. His cuts to the lane near the end of the game were not really guardable, although Okafor ended up finishing things off with a few alley oop dunks.

Much thanks to the tweet below for summing up the ease with which Jones gets his points.

It was a night of basketball to remember, and not sure if will ever delete that one on the DVR; it is just a little bit too cool, but then again this is just a humble basketball geek talking so maybe it is not your bag.

Jones and Okafor will be teammates next season, and almost wish it were next year just so we get to those games. Loving this college basketball renaissance, and hoping that it stays at a high and entertaining level for the next few years, although have my doubts after this 2014 class moves on to the pros. Should be real interesting to keep track of, but you can bet will cover your back here at Rant Sports Prep and t should be an amazing 2014 so strap on your seatbelts.

One more preview coming your way today, and then be sure to check out pro basketball previews as well.
