Evert time you think point guard Tyus Jones has impressed the most, then he steps it up to another level. Lucky enough to be tagged in the post below thanks to the good folks at Iowa Elites, and be sure to check out the video of Jones’ dunk that helped key Apple Valley (MN) to victory over Blue Valley Northwest (KS).

Jones finished with a game-high 26 points to go along with eight rebounds and three assists; the dunk also definitely shifted the momentum for Apple Valley, and their coach admitted as much after the game.

“I thought he was just going to lay it in and then he just goes up and hammers it,” Apple Valley coach Zach Goring said to Max Preps. “I think that was a big key to our second half. We got so much energy off that dunk. Anything he does doesn’t surprise me anymore.”

Jones committed to the Duke Blue Devils in November and his team’s only loss this season was to Whitney Young and their loaded squad that includes Paul White and also fellow Blue Devils commit Jahlil Okafor. It was definitely an intriguing game, and we will have to see if either of these teams can climb a little higher in the national rankings by the end of the year.
