Tyus Jones’ Early Season Play Rewarded with McDonald’s All American Game Nomination

Tyus Jones NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Tyus Jones’ brilliance apparently did not go unnoticed by the McDonald’s All American committee, and he was named one of the nominees. Recently notice that because of the tweet below by Breakdown USA.

He should be a contender for many of the player of the year awards, but the main issue there is that he will be competing against future teammate Jahlil Okafor for those.

Will keep an eye on Jones’ quest for a second state title throughout this year, and always enjoy the new highlights that come out with each game. Will say however that will be looking forward to being able to DVR all of his games, because then will get a clearer picture of how engaged he stays defensively in each game. That is the one big question mark left for me about him, and the college basketball level will definitely test him in that regard. It should definitely be fun to watch his development though, because he seems like a hardworking and focused young player.

Two more Prep pieces coming at you and then will bid you adieu for the evening, only to hit you with more original bada-bing and bada-boom in the morning. Thanks as always.
