Whitney Young (IL) teammates Jahlil Okafor and Paul White got some nice news recently, and it has to do with their nomination so far to possibly be MCDonald’s All Americans at the end of the year. Much thanks to Michael O’Brien for the alert to this, which is always appreciated.

Whitney Young is on a quest to win state this season now that Jabari Parker is out of the way, and Okafor is the key player to making that happen this coming spring. Having depth on the squad does not hurt their chances either though, so having a talented player like White to throw the ball to makes things easier for the big man who just recently turned eighteen years of age. It especially helps during the games Okafor gets double teamed, which is close to every play.

Few more Preps coming your way, and then will crash for the night. Okafor will be up for many of the national player of the year awards, and the McDonald’s team will be one that he makes no problem. Tihs might be a little bit more of a stretch for White, but then again he has been playing extreme well in the early season.
