Duke Blue Devils Commit Jahlil Okafor Says He Wants “To Play With the Best”

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Duke Blue Devils commit Jahlil Okafor has apparently been leaning on Myles Turner to come on down to Durham; the great Jason Jordan of USA TODAY Sports had a gem of a tweet for us lately concerning the two players.

We will have to see if Okafor’s pressure has any affect on Turner’s recruitment, and in the meantime we will keep tabs on Emmanuel Mudiay down in Texas. That would certainly be a surprise if Mudiay and Turner team up, but it would come as some pleasant news to Larry Brown.

Okafor and the top ranked point guard in the class Tyus Jones will be in Durham for sure next season, and whether Turner is there or not is up to him. One thing is crystal clear to me; the Blue Devils are going to put on a fireworks show next season and my DVR actually seems to be buzzing with excitement as I type this. We’re going old school gonzo here at Rant Sports Prep y’all.

Thanks as always, and keep any eye out later for a piece on Cliff Alexander and how he is climbing up draft boards.
