Arizona Wildcats Commit Stanley Johnson Helps Mater Dei Finish Regular Season Undefeated
Stanley Johnson has been impressing all season long, and Mater Dei finished their regular season undefeated it only remains to be seen whether the forward can get his fourth straight state title. That would be a crazy impressive total to achieve, but it is still within the realm of possibility. Much thanks to Max Preps for the alert to this news, and Johnson’s 24 points per game have been impressive enough to garner some player of the year consideration.

The only other player who come to mind who have won four state titles are Jabari Parker and Blake Griffin, which would put Johnson in pretty rare-ified company. It remains to be seen whether Mater Dei will make it happen, but the journey will be fascinating to follow regardless.
The Arizona Wildcats certainly seem to be getting a quality replacement for Aaron Gordon’s production once the forward inevitably leaves for the lottery. Sean Miller seems to have a knack for restocking the cupboard, and so expect the Wildcats to have plenty of talent coming in the foreseeable future as well. Tyler Ennis has been a revelation for me so far this season, so it will be interesting to see if the point guard or Gordon gets picked as freshman of the year. It certainly will be a fascinating race to keep an eye on, and until then we will just have to see how the rest of the high school season plays out.
One more Prep piece is on the grill for tonight, and then be sure to come back tomorrow for even more updates on the best up and comers in America.
