Duke Blue Devils Commit Tyus Jones’ “Family Bonded with the Coaches” at Durham
Tyus Jones committed to the Duke Blue Devils back in November, and the Cameron Crazies are probably not aware of how special a talent is coming their way next season. To find out a little more about the heralded point guard, then be sure to check out the USA Basketball piece below.

It seems that the Blue Devils were able to land Jones in the end, because of the extra efforts that their coaching staff took when it came to the point guard’s family.
“Duke was a good fit because myself and my family bonded with the coaches,” Jones said to USAB.com. “I have a really good relationship with Coach K. The style of the play and their system, I felt, fit me, and I could contribute to their team. I ultimately felt that I would learn the most playing under coach K and under the Duke staff. I was comfortable at Duke.”
We have to remember that Jones was not only picking where he would play basketball, but also where he would attend college classes for the first time which is obviously a huge deal. Quite pleased that Jones’ family felt comfortable with his decision, and his college career will be followed with fascination by me in particular.
