Tyus Jones High School Basketball: Nike Global Challenge

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Tyus Jones did not have to play many minutes, but he was in the driver’s seat for the entire game while leading Apple Valley to their first playoff win this season. Much thanks to D1Circuit for the alert, and this should come as excellent news to any Duke Blue Devil fans out there.

Jones only recorded 10 points and seven assists, but Apple Valley still won by over 40. My prediction has been that the Blue Devils commit will reign in his second state title before his senior season is over, and still feeling pretty good about that at the moment. It is certainly a quest we will be keeping track of here at Rant Sports Prep, and it would certainly be a shock if Jones’ team was bounced early.

Cannot wait until we can all enjoy Jones’ talents from the comfort of the DVR, but we are still a little bit away from that. Also have some cool news for my readers; found out today that will be attending the McDonald’s All American game, and so will definitely be creating some media content that week so keep an eye out.

One more Prep piece is in the oven today, and then also working on a slideshow about what questions I would ask Jim Harbaugh in an interview for any football fans out there.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
