The latest Tyus Jones mix tape starts out with a couple of dunks, and then it begins to show off the point guard’s skill work. His outside jump shot is a thing of beauty, and you can tell that it is an element of the game that will serve him well at the college level.
What will be even more significant for the point guard is the level of talent that he will play with in Durham next season. Yes, the defensive scheme will be brighter as well, but the Apple Valley point guard’s ability to pass the ball right to his teammates shooting pocket will confound many coaches next season.

Looking forward to checking out Jones’ game for the first time in person at the McDonald’s All American game, which should give me a sense as to Jones’ ability level when you stack him up to the other players in his class like Emmanuel Mudiay and Joel Berry. After watching the way Kyrie Irving lit up the All Star game though, I will be expecting Jones to put on an absolute show at the United Center. His game is built for All Star games, and we should see plenty of long three point shots and alley-oops; that will be just fine by me.
