SMU Mustangs Will Host Emmanuel Mudiay on Wednesday and Probably Wish He Could Play

The SMU Mustangs will be hosting five star point guard Emmanuel Mudiay on Wednesday, but the Prime Prep (TX) player has already committed so they do not need to worry. Much thanks to Billy Embody for the tweet below, and we will have to see if the Mustangs can get a win in front of their future floor general.

Head coach Larry Brown recently made a comment that Mudiay would probably play 82 games in his first pro season, which tells you a bit about the mutual respect these two seem to have for each other. There is also another connection there, because Mudiay dunked the ball over Allen Iverson sitting in a chair earlier this year and Brown famously coached “The Answer” to the Finals.

It was bitter-sweet to watch Iverson officially retire recently, but hopefully he can find a bit more peace in his life now that he can no longer play the game of his youth. Maybe he will go check out Mudiay at a a couple Mustang games next season, which would be a great sight to see.

One more Prep piece is in the oven tonight, and if you are a draft junkie then be sure to check out my slideshow piece tonight as well. Thanks as always.
