Jahlil Okafor had a quadruple overtime loss against Cliff Alexander and the Curie Condors not long ago, but it technically did not happen if you take a look at the record book now. Curie was bounced in their first state playoff game after academic violations caused them to forfeit every regular season game this year.

You know what this does, right? This opens up an Alexander-sized path to a state title for Okafor. Is there another player in the state who can match up with Okafor’s physicality?

I say no, and the Whitney Young Dolphins are so deep that double-teaming Okafor becomes quite troublesome strategically. When you have Paul White going off for 30 points in a game, you begin to see the wealth of talent that the Dolphins have been working with this season. Also, here is an excellent piece highlighting the two big men, and just know that Alexander’s future is bright even though his season is over.

The moment for now though, appears to be Okafor’s; it is hard to imagine them losing in the state playoffs now, and it is definitely something that we we will keep an eye on. Up next for Whitney Young they face De La Salle on Friday night in the 4A regional finals, and the winner moves on to sectional finals. All for the Rant Sports Prep train today, but stay tuned for a slideshow later tonight and here is some fortune cookie wisdom as always.
