Jahlil Okafor has gotten quite a bit of attention this year, and that is because he has the Whitney Young (IL) Dolphins playing fantastic basketball.
“Just playing the way we know how to play — moving the ball, playing together and playing with a sense of urgency,” Okafor said to the Chicago Tribune. “Our main focus is the state championship.”
State is definitely within this team’s reach, especially when you consider that Cliff Alexander’s squad lost in their first playoff game. You cannot really blame Alexander for the loss, because his squad was missing three starters due to academic issues. Much thanks to the excellent Tribune piece below, and cannot wait to see what Okafor can make happen next.

Okafor was in Durham tonight, and we will have to see if he is in the ear of Myles Turner at all; I’m really looking forward to March Madness this year and wondering if any of the recruits will make it to any of the conference tournament games as well. Turner’s commitment would mean absolutely huge things for the Duke Blue Devils, but have not heard any whispers either way concerning him.
All for Prep today, but be sure to stop by our college basketball section later on; we will have a slideshow about five predictions for the upcoming ACC tournament. Now I’m off to watch the DUKE-UNC game on the DVR; life is good. As always, here is some fortune cookie wisdom.
