Tyus Jones is a basketball player who you will be watching on national television quite soon, and he was also recently named the Star Tribune’s player of the year. Much thanks to AVHSAthlestics for posting the tweet below.

Jones committed to the Duke Blue Devils back in November, and he has to like what he has seen from his future team this season. Jahlil Okafor was a package recruiting deal with Jones, and together they will make the Blue Devils national title favorites next season. Jones’ season ended in quite a surprise, but that still should not taint what has been a truly amazing high school basketball career. His younger brother Tre is probably bummed that he missed out on a state title run, but he is only in eighth grade so there are plenty more opportunities in the future.

Will be looking forward to seeing Jones practice and play at the McDonald’s All American game, and that is coming up quite quickly. In the meantime, we will just have to see how the Blue Devils do in the ACC conference tournament. They have certainly already clinched their March Madness ticket, but I believe that the number one seed is still within their reach. They would, of course, have to win their conference tournament though, and something tells me the UNC Tar Heels want revenge for last Saturday.

One more Prep piece is in the oven, and then will be hitting you all with a college basketball slideshow as well. Much thanks.
