Jahlil Okafor has done it again, and this time it came down to the wire. The Simeon Wolverines tried to outdo the Whitney Young Dolphins yet again, and they nearly did it. But Jabari Parker is not coming through that door, and neither is Derrick Rose.

Okafor is nearing the end of his high school career, and you can bet that he wants to end it with a state title. He has been blocked from that goal for the last three years by Parker, but the Duke Blue Devils star eventually had to graduate. He managed to nab four state titles in the process though, which is a feat that Stanley Johnson is trying to duplicate out in Cali. We will certainly be keeping track of both young men, and then will be looking forward to seeing them play at the United Center as well. That game is on April 2nd, and I am currently rallying some troops to be at the game. I really want it to feel like a huge basketball event, and I am willing to do anything to make that happen. It will be one of the best months ever, and if I sound over-determined that is just because I just endured another cold Chicago winter. Just want to see a little bit of sunshine.
That is all for today, but I will leave you with a bit of fortune cookie wisdom. It has been a strange day, but excited to see what the weekend holds. Thanks as always.
