Blue Devils Commit Jahlil Okafor Keeps Whitney Young Rolling Towards State with a 35 Point Effort

Jahlil Okafor

Jahlil Okafor is settling into a nice rhythm, and I always enjoy seeing his box score every time that Whitney Young (IL) suits up to play. He has stated that his goal is to win a state title, and you have to think the Dolphins are the favorites now with Cliff Alexander out of the picture.

Okafor committed to the Duke Blue Devils in November, and Alexander will be joining Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks. Let us just say that Alexander and Okafor have not played each other for the leaf time, and they have the All American game circuit coming up later this year. They appear to be friends off the court at the moment, so we will have to see if that continues in the future.

“Jahlil Okafor was the best player in the country tonight,” Young coach Tyrone Slaughter said to the Chicago Sun Times after the win. “It was a big-time performance from a big-time player at a big-time moment.”

Something tells me it is not the last big moment we can expect from Okafor. One more piece in the oven for Rant Sports Prep, and then I will be hitting you with a pro basketball slideshow as well. Thanks as always.
