Duke Blue Devils Commit Tyus Jones Is Named Pioneer Press POY
Tyus Jones committed to the Duke Blue Devils back in the fall, and he has been in national headlines ever since. He was also recently named the Pioneer Press player of the year, and check it out if you missed the piece below. I especially enjoyed the part where Tyus acknowledges his two brothers.

For any college basketball fans it has been quite an entertaining day, and just want to give a quick shoutout to the Virginia Cavaliers. They came out of nowhere to win the ACC regular season title as well as the conference tournament title for the first time since 1976. That was quite a while ago, and believe that most of my readers were not even a twinkle in the eye during that time.
The Blue Devils and especially Jabari Parker gave the Cavaliers their best shot, but in the end the Cavaliers’ suffocating defense prevailed. After this weekend of basketball, to me, the Florida Gators and the Cavs are the favorites to win the title, because they both play with the best team defense. I could also see Parker and the Blue Devils or Andrew Wiggins and the Kansas Jayhawks getting hot as well, but that would be more of a superstar driven championship run than a team one. This year, I just think that the best overall team effort will prevail in the end.
One more Rant Sports Prep piece is one the way, and then will be hitting y’all with a slide show too. Can’t stop; won’t stop.
