Well, it is now player of the year season in high school basketball, and you will not hear any complaints from me. Brianna Turner was recently named the Gatorade Girls High School Basketball Player of the Year, and she will be honored over the summer. I found out about Turner’s good news thanks to USA TODAY high school sports, and you can read more about this remarkable young player below.

The most impressive thing to me about Turner is her GPA, and I also quite enjoyed the praise about her below.
“Brianna embodies everything we look for in a Gatorade Player of the Year recipient,” said Gatorade Vice President Andrea Fairchild to the Wall Street Journal. “In addition to being one of the best high school basketball players in the country, Brianna has excelled in the classroom and been a positive influence in her community. She is a role model for younger student-athletes to look up to and we are excited to see all the things she will accomplish in the future.”
She sounds like a young woman with great promise, and we will watch her career progress with high interest. One more Prep piece is in the oven today, and then will also be touching on the Detroit Pistons and what they need to work on in the offseason. Thanks as always.
