SMU Mustangs Commit Emmanuel Mudiay’s “Whole Mindset Has Changed” in the Past Year

USA TODAY Sports- Troy Babbitt

It seems as though Emmanuel Mudiay has been maturing even more in the past year, and that just does not seem fair to all of the other teams in college basketball.

“My whole mindset has changed over the past year,” Mudiay said to the Dallas Morning News. “Because I know, for what I’m trying to do, it’s going to take nothing but crazy work.”

I expect Mudiay to truly blossom while playing under Larry Brown, and part of that is because the point guard will be playing with his older brother. Players tend to play better on the court when they feel balance off of it, and Emmanuel should feel quite stable next season. Basically, we should be expecting some highlight reel basketball from Mudiay, and I cannot wait for him to hit the court next year. It is a shame that they did not get invited to the tournament, but they should have no problem getting a selection next time. Having a five star point guard will definitely not hurt their chances; we will now have to see if they can land the commitment of five star commit Myles Turner, because then we could be talking about national title implications.

That is all for Rant Sports Prep today, but I will leave you with a bit of fortune cookie wisdom.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
