Jabari Parker Still Mum On Decision with No News From Old AAU Teammates

Star forward Jabari Parker still has a lot of college basketball to watch this season, and that is probably not a great feeling for the Duke Blue Devil. Got a chance to ask this year’s Wooden high school basketball player of the year Jahlil Okafor yesterday about whether they had talked after the game, and he said that they had. Parker, though, has apparently not made a decision about whether to stay or go yet, and so the waiting will continue until possibly late April.

My gut instinct on this is that Parker is going to come back, and that is partly because of his comment after that game about his college career being “incomplete”.

If Parker ends up staying, then maybe the Blue Devils early March exit was a bit of a blessing in disguise. This way, the star forward can really focus on his classes and make sure that he is eligible to play next season. He probably does not see it this way, but adversity is something that can bring out the best in us. Hopefully it will bring out the best in the Blue Devils next season, but for now, we have a whole lot more March basketball on the way. I’m as giddy as a mouse in a cheese factory about it, and I almost wish that I could slow time down this month.

All for Rant Sports Prep today, but I’ll leave you with some fortune cookie wisdom and today I will honor one of the ACC’s living legends.
