This was my favorite part of the story; it is a reference to a time his family was playing in the park.
“[His brothers] used to go to parks growing up,” Emmanuel said to the Dallas News. “It didn’t matter what the weather was. I can remember one time we were out there, 35 degrees, we’ve got gloves on and are still playing. It was crazy, and real competitive, too. Runny nose and all, you just kept playing.”
That is what dedication is called, and that is partly why Mudiay is currently in the position that he is in. That is the kind of dedication that will make him a great professional player, but in the meantime Larry Brown will be quite pleased to be coaching a point guard this athletic.
The thing that would take this thing over the top for the SMU Mustangs? Myles Turner committing to them and giving Mudiay a sweet pick and roll partner. That would really shake things up, and you can bet that we will let you know here at Rant Sports Prep when he commits. In the meantime, enjoy the McDonald’s All American game tomorrow.
