The Duke Blue Devils and Kansas Jayhawks Recruiting Classes Need to Face Off Next Year
When the Duke Blue Devils and Kansas Jayhawks tipped off the start of the season at the Champions Classic, it was at that moment you could tell we were in for a special ride for college basketball this season. This matchup needs to happen again next year, and the main reason is due to the quality of their respective recruiting classes.
The CSN piece below shows quite nicely how Blue Devils commit Jahlil Okafor and Jayhawks commit Cliff Alexander should be battling in the post for years to come, and they would be the marquee matchup to keep an eye on if these two teams met next year. Unfortunately, Alexander injured his hand before the McDonald’s All American game, and so the national TV audience did not quite get to see him at his best. That is all the more reason for a rematch in my opinion.

In any case, these two teams could end up meeting in the NCAA tournament if they are not scheduled during the year, because they are both going to be that good. The Jayhawks came out on top the last time these squads faced off, and something tells me that the Blue Devils would love to get another shot at them. Obviously, the rosters would be quite different next time around, but the intensity from both squads would be just as high and the coaching would be at an extremely high level as always.
You can bet Rant Sports will be on top of it as soon as the schedules are released for next season, and between now and then I hope you all enjoy watching the end of the NCAA tournament this weekend. It went by a little too fast for my taste.
