Jabari Parker Says He Will Speak With Blue Devils Coaching Staff Before NBA Draft Decision
Jabari Parker talked at length with Michelle Beadle recently, but he would not tip his hand about his decision to enter the draft or not.
“It’s a very tough decision, especially potentially leaving behind my coach and the program that really helped me out this year, so I really have to keep them in consideration in this whole process,” Parker said Friday on ESPNLA 710. “I think there’s no risk. I think the community at Duke has really done a good job of taking care of my safety and they make sure that everything is done by the playbook.”
Parker will talk about options with Coach K soon, and if it were my money then I would bet on him returning to school. That is just my opinion, but I had the chance to meet Parker when he was 17 and I just think he is a different kind of cat than many are used to.
People also forget that Parker’s parents have a bit of money, so it is not like putting off the pros for one more year would be incredibly inconvenient for him. My bet is that he makes a decision by the end of the month, but until that time Duke Blue Devil fans will be sweating. Keep an eye out later for one more Prep piece.
It will touch on Myles Turner’s recruiting decision, and also some words he had concerning the Nike Hoop Summit. That happened tonight, and I will draft my recap of it once I have re-watched it on the DVR. Much love and for all you Chicagoans out there? Welcome to Springtime finally!
