UNC Tar Heels Commit Joel Berry II Said Future Teammates Got a Chance to “Bond” at the Nike Hoop Summit
Joel Berry II had a great time at the Nike Hoop Summit, and even though there were a lot of Duke Blue Devil and North Carolina Tar Heel commits at the event it seems that they all still found a way to have some enjoyment over the weekend.
“It’s a lot of fun to be out here with all of my fellow teammates,” Berry said to the Tar Heel Times. “Now we get a chance to all come together, bond and have a good time, while also having a business-like trip. It’s a different style of play, more fundamentally sound and coming from the USA we have a lot of guys who are athletes and can jump out of the gym.”
The Tar Heels need Berry’s help next season for sure, but it will also help to have wing players like Theo Pinson and Justin Jackson coming to Chapel Hill as well. Admittedly, Berry will be coming off the bench since Marcus Paige decided to stay in school, but that does not mean the two time state champion cannot have a major impact. That is all for the Rant Sports Prep scene today, but be sure to check out my slideshow about why the NCCA is trying to put a bandage on a severed arm with their unlimited food proposal. Ridiculous.
For Bery and the Tar Heels next season, they are going to have their hands full with the Blue Devils, but something tells me that they will be worthy of the challenge.
