Cliff Alexander showed why he is getting so much national recognition at the Jordan Brand Classic last night, and I am enjoying watching the replay of it on my DVR today. Alexander was rightfully named MVP of the game, and he is stealing a few headlines from fellow big man Jahlil Okafor as of late. Much thanks to KUsports for tweeting about Alexander’s most recent honor, and it would not be a surprise to me if he were to win Big 12 freshman of the year next season.

He will have a lot of competition for the award, and the most fierce opponent for it might just be Myles Turner. The uncommitted center is still looking at a couple Big 12 schools, and he could even end up joining Alexander on the Kansas Jayhawks. Turner has said that he will decide by April 30th, and be sure to keep track of Rant Sports Prep in the next couple weeks for more updates. My money is still on the Jayhawks as my readers probably know by now, but I would also not be surprised if the Texas Longhorns make a late push.

One more Prep piece is in the oven today, and then also get ready for a slideshow concerning Kevin Durant and the the challenges that his team will face this offseason. For Alexander and the Jayhawks next year, it is not going to be championship or bust, but there will certainly be quite a lot of expectations for a squad with so many McDonald’s All Americans.
