Tyus Jones knows what it is like to win a championship at the high school level, but it appears he is setting some fairly high goals for college as well. I cannot blame the talented floor general for that, and it would not surprise me to see him achieve his dreams. The former Apple Valley (MN) point guard will be joining the Duke Blue Devils next season along with his good friend and top ranked center in the class, Jahli Okafor.
“At the end of the day,” Jones said to Blue Devil Lair. “If we win a national championship, I’ll be happy.”

The Blue Devils are going to be the preseason number one ranked team next season without a doubt, so Jones will definitely get his wish as far as the expectations are concerned. Whether they can come through on the actual court still remains to be seen, but I have definitely liked the play of Jones, Okafor, Justise Winslow, and Grayson Allen at all of the high school All American games this Spring. Allen’s leaping ability will pair nicely with Jones, and then Winslow’s defensive versatility will be useful at all points of the season.
One more Prep piece is on the way, and I hope you all had a fantastic Easter feast yesterday. Back to the grind today.
