Stanley Johnson was recently named Mr Basketball in the state of California, and to be honest this was not a huge surprise to Rant Sports Prep. This does deserves some props though, especially after the fantastic high school career that the Arizona Wildcats commit has just put together. He is playing well at all of the All American games as well, and I was especially impressed with him at the McDonald’s game.

“I raised Stanley and put the ball in his hand when he was three years old,” his mother Karen Taylor told Cal-Hi Sports. “I raised him to set goals to make things like this happen. I’m proud that he listened enough. I told him you just got to do a bit more and trust your teammates more and that’s what he did.”
It certainly is. Johnson now has four state title to his name, and he will be looking to follow that up with a Pac-12 freshman of the year award. I have predicted that one for some time, and it is a prediction that I am quite confident with. Johnson could make even more waves in college than he did in high school, which should put all college basketball fans on monsoon alert next season.
