Duke Blue Devils Will Still Face High Expectations Despite Jabari Parker Entering Draft

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

The Duke Blue Devils would have been a national story next season regardless of whether Jabari Parker entered the draft or not, but now that the Chicago native has decided to leave Durham all of the attention can go to Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones. We will have to see if any more of their players declare for the draft in the meantime, and you can bet Rant Sports Prep will be keeping an eye on this.

Just how good can the Blue Devils be next season? Well, I think that the players could probably tell you best, so I will let them do the talking.

“I think we can be very good,” Okafor said to Sheridan Hoops. “With me, Tyus, Justice and Grayson, we all want to win. That was all part of the reason we all decided we wanted to go to Duke together because we felt that would give us the better opportunity to win.”

Something tells me that they will get an opportunity or two next season, but it still remains to be seen whether they can wipe the recent postseason stink off of the Blue Devils. My money will be on them to get at least to the Final Four, but beyond that is still a mystery.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
