Duke Blue Devils Commit Jahlil Okafor Rightfully Retains Top Spot in Rivals Rankings

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Center Jahlil Okafor remained the top ranked player in the Rivals scouting rankings, and this does not come as a surprise to Rant Sports Prep. Okafor will be joining the Duke Blue Devils next season, and he should have a featured role in their offense. That will be especially true considering the departure of Jabari Parker and Rodney Hood to the pro basketball draft.

I noticed the news about Okafor on twitter, and you can bet that the Blue Devils are going to be the preseason number one ranked team next fall.

Quick basketball sidenote: I do not know if any of you out there watched the playoff games today, but I truly think that this Donald Sterling topic is about to become news of international interest. That is just my opinion, but I think things are about to get messy and possibly even spin out of control. The Blue Devils do not have to worry about that because they are a featured part off the college basketball world, but the Sterling issue is a majorly important topic to follow in the next couple weeks. Apologies to be a downer, but I am now moving on.

Okafor is going to be a star for the Blue Devils okay? We all know that, but the social waters we are now entering with the recent news in basketball will reveal racial issues that have been lying dormant beneath the surface and just been waiting to pop out.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
