Myles Turner Dismays Kansas Jayhawk Fans By Picking Texas Longhorns
Well, I told you all it was done to two schools, and it seems that Myles Turner wants to follow in the footsteps of Kevin Durant.
The talented center will be joining the Texas Longhorns and giving Rick Barnes a phenomenal weapon in the big 12 next season. This news will probably sadden head coach Bill Self and any fans of the Kansas Jayhawks, but they still have big man Cliff Alexander. Something tells me they are going to be okay, and I also think that the Jayhawks will still win the Big 12 next season despite Turner’s decision.
“Without further delay, I will be pursuing my education and be excited to be a part of the men’s basketball program at the University of Texas”, Turner said to ESPNU this afternoon before putting on a fisherman’s hat with the Longhorns logo on it. “I’m feeling a little bit overwhelmed, but I’m very happy to be here in this position. This is incredible right now.”
Turner was the last remaining unsigned top 10 prospect and the McDonald’s All-American will be going to school only three hours away from his hometown. He was not highly recruited his sophomore season, and so this must have been quite an amazing day for him.
Thanks so much for making Rant Sports Prep your news source on this story, and I hope you get a chance to check out some of our other content as well. My slideshow today about why Magic Johnson should replace Donald Sterling as an owner was particularly fun to work on.
Congratulations to Turner, and I will enjoy watching his career unfold.
