Justin Jackson Will More Than Replace James Michael McAdoo’s Production For Tar Heels
Roy Williams’ UNC Tar Heels basketball recruiting class may not be getting as much press as the others, but there is some really nice talent in this group. I expect next year’s ACC to be the best basketball conference in America, and that is thanks to all of the McDonald’s All Americans heading to the Heels and Duke Blue Devils accordingly.
That is a lot of basketball talent within a fairly small radius, and so it would not surprise me to see some bad blood curdle up at some point next season.
Williams feels particularly good about Justin Jackson, the 6-foot-6 wing, who should serve as quite a nice replacement to disappointing legacy player James Michael McAdoo.
“He’s 6-8 with perimeter skills,” Williams said to ESPN. “He performed well last summer against tough competition, including at USA Basketball events.”
Jackson looked smooth at all of the spring All American games as well; they were even rumors that the UNC-DUKE rivalry between the players has already begun in a somewhat jovial manner.
The Heels also probably did not expect stud point guard Marcus Paige return for his junior year, and he is my favorite to take home ACC player of the year. That is unless Jahlil Okafor unleashes a Tim Duncan-like can of something on the ACC. Should be fun to watch either way.

Rant Sports Prep has one more in the oven today, but also be sure to keep an eye out for a slideshow about what Daryl Morey might do this summer. You all know how I love keeping an eye on all the offseason happenings.
